Why we setup Bright Beany

2020 – what a year! For us, it started with our honeymoon being cut short due to the pandemic, working our way through various lockdowns in the middle, and ended with finding out I was pregnant with our first baby in December!
Fast forward to 2022, following my return to work as a Finance Director in the education sector after my year long maternity leave (and baby no 2 pending!), I decided to take the difficult but exciting step away from the world of employment.
My decision was based on many things, but spending more time with my family as our children grew, whilst using my experience as a Finance Director to make a real difference for small business owners was my main driver.
At the same time, my husband and business partner, Max, was working with a Technology business, leading on their Finance Transformation plan having spent several years as a Finance Director for a listed manufacturing business in Nottingham. We decided that with our combined knowledge and experience, we could make really add value to small and medium sized businesses and Bright Beany was born.
From the very start of our careers in audit, we both loved getting to know our clients and their businesses, and helping them grow. Our focus on digital accounting tools, such as Xero, can really drive efficiency in small businesses and give us more time to work with our clients to support their growth and success.
We are loving what we do - working with fantastic people and supporting them to achieve their goals. There is no question too big or too small and we get really excited when presented with a problem to solve - we want to give small and medium sized business owners access to a personable service and quality advice to help them be successful. We are excited to continue to grow our own business over the next few years and will work with you to make getting your numbers right as stress free as possible.
